Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers would like to take this opportunity to remind you of how it is we work. We take information from tipsters – people like you who call us with information about a crime. The tipster is given a tracking number and advised to call us back to see if the tip was successful. We pass that information on to the police for investigation. The police call us back and let us know if the tip led to an arrest or charges laid. When the tipster calls us back, we let them know if the tip was successful and we make arrangements for payment of a reward. After we pass the information to the police the matter is out of our hands. We do not investigate the tip, the police do.

Lambton OPP is currently investigating a series of Mischief Incidents which occurred overnight Friday May 4th into the morning hours of Saturday May 5th, 2012, at various locations in Corunna. The suspect(s) sprayed purple paint onto a Canada Post mail box and on as many as 17 different vehicles parked in driveways and on roadways. Derogatory statements and vulgar language was the main content of the graffiti. A fence and real estate billboard were also targeted. Damage to the billboard is estimated at $2,500.00. There is currently no total estimate of damage done to the vehicles.

Neighbours saw groups of suspicious people on the streets in Corunna that night but none called the police.

The Ontario Provincial Police and the Sarnia Police Service are currently investigating several break and enters which have occurred recently in all parts of the County of Lambton and the City of Sarnia.

Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers reminds you to keep your doors locked, even if you are at home. Many break-ins occur during daylight hours while people are home.

All property owners are asked to be extra vigilant, keep your garage and shed doors closed, secure all items of value behind locked doors. Look out for your neighbours, and call police if you see someone acting suspiciously in your neighbourhood.

Lambton OPP is currently investigating a series of Break, Enter and Theft incidents, which remain unsolved. These incidents occurred during the weekend of April 7th and 8th, and the following weekend the 14th and 15th, primarily in the east side of Lambton County. The first occurred at the Skyview Restaurant near Reeces Corners. The rest occurred in the area Watford and Alvinston. In all there were six break-ins which occurred at retail locations.

In all cases entry was made by smashing out the glass doors. It appears that the culprits were looking for cash. Similar incidents also occurred into Middlesex County.

Spring is in the air and a lot of people with green thumbs are beginning their outdoor gardening. They will be picking up topsoil, fertilizer and other items to make sure their plants get a good start. Marihuana growers are also thinking about starting their own gardens, and will be purchasing large amounts of these same items. They will soon be transferring their marihuana seedlings which have been growing indoors for a while now, to outdoor plots.

This is where you, the public can help, because we want to identify those who are growing marihuana. Call Crime Stoppers with information about areas where marihuana is growing or those who are growing it, and we will contact the police to harvest their crops for them.

Sherwood Village Robbery

The Sarnia Police Service is currently investigating a robbery, which occurred during

the early morning hours of Thursday March 8th, in a garage in the 1200 block of

Birkdale Avenue in the City of Sarnia.

The homeowner confronted a male who was in the process of stealing a mitre saw. A

second male struck the victim. The victim was then struck in the head by a steel pipe.

The culprits escaped on foot.

The first male is described as white, 5’5”, 18 years of age, skinny with black wavy

hair down to his ears. He was dressed in black clothing. The second male is described

as white, 5’9”, 18 years of age with straight black hair down to his ears. He too was

dressed in black clothing.
