HAMMER ASSAULT… 

On February 22, 2022, at approximately 2 AM, a male victim was walking in the 300 block of Kathleen Avenue in Sarnia.  He was approached by two males and a female.  The victim noticed one of the males was holding a hammer. The victim attempted to get away from the trio but the male suspect holding the hammer began to strike the victim with it.

The victim was able to fend off some of the many blows and flee the area.  The heavy clothing he was wearing assisted in blocking the strikes and preventing more serious injury.  In the meantime, the victim’s girlfriend witnessed the confrontation and assault from her residence.  She yelled at the group.

The two male suspects immediately attended at her residence and entered, uninvited, through the front door.  Once inside, they began to assault her.  She too, was able to escape from the assailants.  She eventually attended hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Police attended the area and arrested a forty-six year old man.  He is charged with multiple charges.  The second male remains at large.  Wanted for Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Break and Enter is thirty-three year old Joseph Marcelino AYALA.  If you know the location or where abouts of AYALA, please call Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-268-TIPS (8477) or go on-line at www.p3tips.com.  Some one out there knows where he is.  You could receive a cash reward for your information.
