Ghost Gun Seized in Sarnia

Sarnia Police executed a search warrant on a house in Sarnia last week and seized a fully operable firearm commonly referred to as a “Ghost Gun”.

A ghost gun is manufactured by using 3D printers and/or machine shops to produce parts. Parts are often ordered online, assembled and used as crime guns to instill fear or physically harm others just as any other commercially manufactured firearm could.

These guns are not traceable as they were not legitimately manufactured and do not have a serial number.  It is unlawful to even “3D print” a gun in Canada.

Many of these ghost guns and parts come from the U.S.  Both the Canada Border Services Agency and Canada Post are on alert watching for parts ordered online for delivery to Canada.
