The Sarnia Police Service is investigating a series of break and enters to empty or unoccupied homes in the Wellington and Stuart St area. Over the past 3 or 4 weeks, thieves have been very active in this area of the south end of the city.
In six different break ins, the thieves had enough time to cut out sections of copper pipes from the open basement ceilings and in some cases the result has been extensive water damage. Copper wire, a computer, a bike and other expensive household items were targeted in another home.
Some of the homes had recently been sold or were up for sale at the time of the break in and in all cases the homes were unoccupied.
Copper thefts are on the rise and Crime Stoppers would like to hear from anyone who can provide information on the identity of these thieves. With Crime Stoppers you can remain anonymous and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to the arrest of a suspect.
Somebody out there knows who is committing these unique break ins. Be the first to make the call to Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or simply submit your tip online at https://www.sarnialambtoncrimestoppers.org/
