A1 Security Crime of the Week

Sarnia Police responded to Preston Avenue in Sarnia in regards to a break and enter to a garage. This crime was committed sometime between May 16th and May 18th. Items taken in this break and enter included various power tools and a generator. These goods were valued at approximately $1,000. No damage to the residence was reported.

Lambton OPP responded to Arkona, Ontario on May 8 in regards to the theft of a 5 ton 2021 Yanmar mini excavator, red in colour. Value of this piece of equipment is about $80,000. It is believed to have been driven away south on Arkona Road to Birnam Line. Did you see anything suspicious near this location in the early morning hours of May 8, 2023?

This is a reminder to property and business owners that with the warmer weather coming, prowlers and thieves are looking for easy targets. You must be vigilant at locking doors and windows and securing your homes, businesses and vehicles accordingly. Surveillance cameras are an asset to any property owner. Make sure the systems are operating properly and make note of any neighbouring residences or businesses that may have security systems with cameras. This could be helpful to investigators.
