A1 Security Crime of the Week

 

Sarnia Police Service is looking for assistance identifying a male party possibly involved in the theft of a bicycle.

On 27 June 2023, during the day time hours, a male party entered onto the property of a private residence located on Samuel Street in the City of Sarnia. This male was seen on a home camera approaching the residence. He was not recognized by the homeowner. A short time later the homeowner noticed that a red men’s mountain bike was missing from the residence.

Suspect appears to be a Caucasian male, possibly late teens to early 20’s, average build, wearing a white baseball hat worn backwards, long sleeve black t-shirt, black pants and black running shoes.

Bicycle thefts are very common and recovering the missing bicycles can sometimes be difficult. Here are some tips on how to help prevent your bike from being stolen.

  • Invest in a good lock and ensure you are using it correctly
  • Write down the serial number of your bicycle and keep it somewhere safe
  • Lock your bike in a well-lit or busy public place. At home keep your bike secure in a garage, shed or fenced yard if possible.
  • If you spot your bike for sale on-line or see someone riding it please do not approach them, call the police.
