Sarnia Police are currently investigating a very serious incident that occurred on July 22 on Earlscourt Drive neat Exmouth Street in Sarnia. A violent home invasion took place around 2 AM and as a result, an 81 year old man received 100 stitches to lacerations on his hands and head. The injuries were sustained during an attack in his home by an unknown man wielding a knife.
Only small items were taken from the victim’s home. The victim and the offender are not known to each other and it is believed that this was not a targeted crime. Other residences in the neighbourhood may have been victims of theft or mischief by the same culprit. Sarnia Police have been canvassing the area attempting to speak to home owners.
