A1 Security Crime of the Week

Lambton County OPP are requesting the public’s assistance identifying the person(s) responsible for causing damage to four rainbow crosswalks in the town of Petrolia.

On Sunday, September 22, 2024 a resident reported that four rainbow crosswalks in the town of Petrolia had been vandalized sometime over night with white paint. Two of the locations had the words “fear God” spray painted on them.

The locations that were damaged are as follows:

  • 411 Greenfield Street, Petrolia – Petrolia Town hall
  • 450 Blanche Street, Petrolia – Bluewater health, Englehart Hospital
  • 4141 Dufferin Avenue, Petrolia – Lambton Central Collegiate Vocational Institute
  • 4079 Maple Street, Petrolia – Queen Elizabeth II Public School

Two suspects were seen on CCTV wearing all black clothing with hoods on, facial masks and

wearing gloves. One of the suspects is carrying what appears to be a red Goodlife gym bag. Suspects appear to be 5’10 and 6′ tall with a slim build. No motor vehicles were seen.
