A1 Security Crime of the Week

The Sarnia Police Service is investigating a theft of audio equipment that was taken from the patio of Paddy Flaherty’s early Saturday morning.  Thieves made off an EV (Electro-Voice) SX300 trapezoidal speaker (60 pounds) and a large quantity of AV Cabling in a plaid bag.

The owner was in the process of loading the equipment into his vehicle at the end of a Friday night show when thieves helped themselves.

This audio equipment is used by the owner at local establishments as he is involved in the production of entertainment by local bands. The 300 watt Electro-Voice speaker looks like the type that a band would have on stage while performing. It is unique in that it has an “EV” emblem on the front of it – down at the bottom of the big woofer. Its trapezoidal shape makes it look skinnier at the back.

The plaid bag is unique too. It has long white carry straps and a zippered top and it contained about $1,000 worth of cables and microphones for an onstage show.

These are not your normal, run of the mill stereo components. This equipment is clearly higher quality and would not normally be found in your typical basement sound system.

If you see these items somewhere or you hear of someone who has recently acquired these items please contact Crime Stoppers at 519-332-TIPS (8477). Or call the Sarnia Police.

You will remain anonymous with Crime Stoppers and you could earn a cash reward if your tip leads to an arrest. Make the call – this was a cowardly act and the victim certainly didn’t deserve to lose the equipment he uses to make a living.
