Sarnia Police Seeking Public Assistance to Identify Suspects in Air Conditioner Vandalism Investigation

The Sarnia Police Service is asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects believed to be responsible for a series of air conditioner vandalism and theft incidents that occurred across the city.

On August 26, 2026, between 4:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., police responded to three separate reports of damaged air conditioning units where copper wiring had been removed.

Surveillance footage obtained during the investigation captured two individuals involved in at least one of the incidents, with one suspect appearing to act as a lookout. Police believe all three incidents are connected.

Suspect #1

• White male
• Middle-aged
• Red hair and beard
• Wearing a grey sweater, black pants, and Converse-style shoes
• Wearing a chain necklace
• Wearing a bracelet and watch on his right wrist
• Wearing a headlamp

Suspect #2

• Male
• Wearing a black hooded sweater with white lettering across the front and red and white lettering across the back
• Wearing a baseball cap underneath the raised hood
• Wearing shorts
• Carrying a black backpack with a fanny pack attached
