Thieves Hit Habitat for Humanity Again

In the early morning hours of May 6th, 2021 an unknown person(s) broke into a storage area at the Habitat for Humanity Restore on London Line in Sarnia.  The thief made off with numerous assorted DeWalt power tools and accessories.

This is not the first time that Habitat for Humanity has been victimized by thieves.  ‘Habitat’ has taken measures to deter thefts and break ins and they’ll continue to increase security but this gets very costly for a non-profit organization.

In this latest incident, the suspects cut a hole in the fence, broke into one of Habitat’s handyman trailers and grabbed the DeWalt tools before fleeing on foot.

These DeWalt tools are the very tools that Habitat builders use to construct the homes that are sold to low-income, working families seeking safe and affordable housing. Through their zero-down, zero-interest mortgages and geared-to-income monthly payments, they offer their partner families a hand up…not a hand-out.

Any theft of tools from Habitat is a theft from an important community partner!

If you know who’s responsible or where the tools can be found, call Crime Stoppers!  It’s anonymous and you may be eligible for a cash reward!
