ARSON IN SARNIA…

The Sarnia Police Service is attempting to identify a suspect involved in a recent arson investigation.

At about 1:45am, on Monday, February 21st, an unknown person was observed on surveillance video as he or she approached a business in the 1200 block of Confederation St in the City of Sarnia.

This suspect can be seen on video smashing the glass door with a wrench and then entering the business with a jug of suspected accelerant.

Seconds later, the entrance to this business was engulfed in flames as the suspect scrambled to get out and flee the scene. It’s possible that the suspect or his clothing was burned by the explosive flames.

The suspect had approached the business from the east and was last seen running north towards Confederation St near the Howard Watson Trail.

If you know who was responsible for this arson, call Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit your tip online at sarnialambtoncrimestoppers.org
