14 Can Am Spyder Motorcycles Stolen/Recovered
The Sarnia Police Service is investigating the theft of a flatbed trailer loaded with 14 brand new “Can Am Spyder” motorcycles and the Lambton OPP are investigating the theft of a white, 2017 Volvo tractor.
This tractor was stolen from a lot at Rokeby Line at Oil Heritage Rd late Friday night or early Saturday morning on June 4th. At about 3am that morning, this same truck was used in the theft of the trailer full of Can Am Spyders from Ube Drive in Sarnia. These 3 wheeled motorcycles were still in their crates from the factory.
These thieves then drove the stolen truck and trailer E/B on Hwy 402 and eventually abandoned the trailer with the motorcycles intact, in the Talbotville, ON area. The Volvo tractor truck was eventually located in the city of London.
The truck, trailer and load of Spyder motorcycles were valued at over $450,000 and although all items were eventually recovered with minimal damage, police continue to actively investigate these brazen thefts.
Photos of the stolen truck and trailer can be found on the Crime Stoppers website.
