Crime of the Week

Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers along with local police would like to remind the public that Human Trafficking is active in our community.

Human Trafficking is a crime and deprives the victims of their freedom and dignity. 77% of Human Trafficking cases in Canada are sex trafficking offences. Victims of these crimes are being exploited. They are controlled by threats and often don’t reach out for help out of fear.

Sarnia Lambton has seen victims as young as 17 years old and up to 62 years old. The community plays an important role in stopping these crimes. Your information or tips may lead to an arrest or may save someone from being exploited.

We should make ourselves aware of what to look for and what we can do to stop it. For more information on the warning signs please visit www.EndSexTrafficking.ca.

If you suspect someone you know may be a victim of human trafficking and wish to remain anonymous please call Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or go online at www.p3tips.ca. You could qualify for a reward if your information leads to an arrest and more importantly, you could save a life.
